Captain Cook plans his 3rd voyage
-On June 1776, Captain Cook was unhappy with his desk job. Therefore, Captain Cook again sets sail, but this time on a secret mission to find the North West Passage. The true purpose of this mission cannot be revealed.

-In this voyage, Captain Cook was commanding the Resolution while Charles Clerke captains the HMS Discovery.

Captain Cook encounters Kahura
-It took 8 months to travel to New Zealand.
-Finally on February 1777, they finally arrived at New Zealand. Queen Charlotte Sound was one of James Cook's favorite places but this time he had to kill someone.
-Three years ago on his second voyage, there had been a massacre. Maori had killed and eaten 11 crew members from Captain Cook's companion ship, the Adventure and a chief name Kahura was said to be responsible.Now, Captain Cook and his men want revenge, they want Kahura dead.

-In New Albion , Captain Cook made the first European contact with the people of the deer, the Mowachaht.
-When James Cook arrived, the people who came up to meet him directed him to a village, the village of Yuquot where he stayed for a month.
-Captain Cook likes it there because the people were very creative and kind.

-The maps Captain Cook brought from England were useless and the ships fire guns and beat drums to stay aware of each other's whereabouts.
-Captain Cook began to behave strangely and he became increasingly irrational, cutting the cuts the men rations when they refuse to eat walrus meat.
-His crew wrote a letter of complaint to him because in the past Captain Cook led his crew by example but now he uses fear and threats to control them .
-By September, Captain Cook realized that the time of the year was too cold to continue searching for the North West Passage. Then, he sailed towards Hawaii.

-After three weeks in the Arctic , Captain Cook is beaten by the weather and heads south to the Sandwich Islands.
-William Bligh was sent ashore to find water and supplies.
-Captain Cook strangely sails around the islands for six weeks before landing at Kealakekua Bay.

-After three weeks, Cook leaves the Sandwich Islands but a broken mast on the Resolution forces his return.
-The patience of the Hawaiian people has worn thin and the chiefs will no longer protect Captain Cook and his crew.
-A boat was stolen and Captain Cook orders the bay to be blockaded by the Resolution and the Discovery.
-Captain Cook seizes the Chief of Hawaii, Kalaniopu'u and plans on holding him hostage until the stolen boat was returned.
-Captain Cook brings the chief to the waters edge surrounded by Captain Cook's men and a crowd of Hawaiians.
-William Bligh orders fire on a canoe that was trying to breach the blockade.
-The beach erupts into a skirmish and Cook fires a shot, killing one man.
-The Hawaiians attacked and by that morning, Captain James Cook was stabbed to death, he was hacked into pieces.
-Later the crew retrieve Cook's dismembered body. There was evidence that some parts have been eaten. His remains were buried at sea.
